Students apply knowledge from Architectural Theory 1 and Architectural design methodology courses to design a medium scale of public building based on the following parameters:
- Location: Situated on a site designated for public building in accordance with the urban planning orientation of the selected city.
- Building scale: Maximum 3 storeys (mezzanine permitted, no basement or semi-basement)
- Total area: 4000-6000m2.
- Building coverage ratio: 25-40%
- Building setback: Determined based on spatial planning orientation, building height and right-of-way of the road. However the minimum setback requirements must be ensured as follows: Main road frontage: min 6m, other sides: min 4m.
- Accessibility: including disabilities and comply with Vietnamese standards (TCVN).
- Design requirements: Architectural proposal must ensure appropriate functionality, aesthetic and technical feasibility.
